Baking soda and vinegar as powerful hair cleansers

Baking soda

Baking soda is a very powerful substance and it is capable of cleaning different products at home. It is mainly beneficial as a mild alkali with fine abrasive particles. These factors work to break the dirt and oil effectively, so your hair and other particles will be very clean. It is also known as an agent that cannot cause irritation to people, so you have nothing to worry about, because it will be safe on your skin. But you need to know that baking soda can cause dryness, if you want to keep it to your scalp for a few minutes, don’t rub the roots to the tips of the hair.

Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar works by complementing baking soda. Because it is an acidic agent, it helps in balancing the alkaline effect of the baking so to renew the natural pH level of the hair. It can also help in killing the bacteria, which is best for those with dandruff problems. It is naturally a humectant; this means that it can help in locking the moisture.

The proper use of the 2 powerful agents

There is a debate with the ratio of the baking soda and the water. Well, some just put few spoonful of the baking soda in 400ml of water and then shake it inside the bottle. When you go inside the shower wet your hair and shake the water and the baking soda mixture. Make sure that it is evenly mixed. Squeeze the mixture into your scalp; it will be best to divide the hair in parts just like what hair stylists do when cutting your hair. This way, you will be able to scatter the mixture evenly onto your scalp. Rub it well lightly and let it stay there for a few minutes and then rinse. Make sure you keep the baking soda on the scalp level, so that the hair will not be harmed. When you rub the mixture onto the scalp, do not do that to the tips of the hair, it can cause dryness.

If you want to use the apple cider to condition your scalp, you will need a spray bottle, apple cider and water. The ratio may vary depending on your hair, but usually it is around 1:4 of apple cider vinegar to water. Women use squeeze bottle for this for easy application. After you have rinsed out the baking soda mixture you have applied, you can now towel dry your hair and then get the spray bottle and spray some of the mixture onto the scalp. Divide the hair in sections again, especially if you have dandruff. This will help the vinegar mixture in penetrating deep into the roots of the hair and all over the scalp. Rub it lightly for a few seconds and then cover the hair. Let it stay there for a moment before you rinse it off.

When you are done with the process, you will find your hair weird and awful at first as if it is not properly washed. But don’t worry! As soon as you get out of the shower room and you have dried your hair it will be softer and smoother than ever before. You can style it the way you want to. Some women have used this method and they have seen themselves, not using any chemically formulated products anymore. This is not just for fine and limp hair, but this is also for straight, curly and other types of hair. But this method of cleaning your hair is not to be used daily. You can do this three to four times a week and no more than that, because it can cause drying of the scalp. Your aim is to take care of your scalp and not to make it dry. Just like anything overly done, this mixture is not intended for daily use. Though it is highly recommended and very effective, you need to keep in mind that the baking soda’s pH level is very high and not suited for the scalp when used daily. It has a pH level of 9.
