Shiny, Strong Hair Tips
Shiny, Strong Hair Tips
Everybody wants to have strong, healthy looking hair with a natural, lustrous shine. Using high quality shampoo and conditioner is important to avoid stripping essential oils from the hair follicles and drying them out, but there’s more to having great looking hair than just what you put on your head. If you really want shiny, strong hair, you may have to modify what you put into your body in the form of food and supplements as well.
Eat Onega-3 Rich Food.
Omega-3 rich foods like salmon, avocado, pumpkin and walnuts are excellent for keeping your hair healthy. Omega-3 fatty acids actually make up a small percentage of hair follicles and your body needs omega-3 fatty acids to support optimal hair growth. unfortunately, your body can’t produce omega-3 fatty acids on its own, so it’s up to you to get them through a healthy diet. If you don’t feel like you’re getting enough omega-3 fatty acids from your diet, supplements are available.
Get Enough B Vitamins.
B vitamins play a major role in hair health along with protein, vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids. B vitamins boost the immune system and help the body produce red blood cells and they have been linked with hair growth, even in people whose hair is thinning. While vitamin B6 is especially important for healthy hair, taking a B complex vitamin is the best for most people. You should also add healthy foods that contain B vitamins like beans, nuts and whole grains to your diet.
Shampoos & Other Products.
Using a gentle, natural shampoo and conditioner can help add shine to hair adding a hot oil treatment occasionally will add glossiness to over-processed locks.
Don’t Smoke.
You already know smoking is bad for your health – that isn’t exactly breaking news. However, many people don’t realize that smoking, even they don’t do it regularly could affect their growth – and may even cause hair follicles to shed at an abnormally high rate.
