Hair Washing Do’s and Don’ts
Hair Washing Do’s and Don’ts
Do
- Gently Massage Scalp
Gently massage your scalp as you shampoo. Massaging your scalp stimulates the hair follicles, helping it to grow faster - Rinse Thoroughly
Be sure to thoroughly rinse your hair after shampooing - Finish With A Cool Rinse
Ending your hair wash with cool water will help to close the hair cuticle, reducing frizz. - Use The Right Shampoo For You
Be sure to use a shampoo that’s designed for your hair type if you have oily hair, it doesn’t make sense to to use an ultra-moisturizing shampoo. - Wring Your Hair Out
Wring your hair out a bit before applying your conditioner. Your conditioner can be too heavily diluted if applied to soaked hair.
Don’t
- Use Too Much Shampoo
Using too much shampoo strips the hair of its natural oils. - Plop Conditioner On Back Of Your Head
Don’t plop conditioner on the back of your head. Apply your conditioner to the ends of your hair first. - Brush Your Hair When Wet
Your hair is more fragile when wet. Let it dry before brushing whenever possible - Don’t Wash Your Hair Too Often
You may only need to wash your hair as often as 3x per week, depending on your hair type. Over washing can actually cause your hair to produce more oil.
